Title: Drivers side centre box

What problem could cause a new drivers side centre box to blow within a week. This is now the 2nd box and it is noisy as hell :question

You just say that it's noisy.
Where has it blown? Have you looked at it?

Is it from a joint?
Has something punctured the box?
Has it been fitted incorrectly, under stress, so that a joint or
weld has broken?

It's just ticking and rattling inside. Ticking on idle and rattle @ 2000rpm upwards. No noticable holes or defects on the exterior.

Not had one of these apart, so don't know if it's a 'Baffle' or
'Perforated' type.

If it's the 'Baffle' type then it could be a manufacturing fault that's
given you a loose or broken baffle plate.

Sounds can carry along an exhaust system. Seeing as it's been
newly fitted, are you positive that it's not been fitted so that it's
lightly vibrating against the underside of the body anywhere?

With the engine stopped, if you tap upwards with your hand (wrapped
in a cloth or gloves), can you hear anything loose inside the box?
