Title: Estate is Mis - Firing AGAIN
Post by: Markie on 06 August 2007, 12:22:52
Getting sick of this escapade. Replaced dispack with brand new one - made no difference. Did full breather clean, iacv, throttle body clean and it gave me perfect idle. Misfire was eventually fixed by replacing 1 spare lead onto driver middle plug.

All has been fine for a month then yesterday ( is it relevant to advise torrential rain) i noticed a slight blip on the motorway at 80mph...as i was near the journey end i didnt notice it again.

Today its phut phuting at idle and has that blody misfire back....

now, before i go through the process of changing leads....is there anything else it can be ?

Full breather / iacv clean etc etc.
Plugs less than 8000miles.
Breathers replaced ( vx own) 20 months ago - no signs of leaks on either cover or in any plug well....
dis pack replaced 6 weeks ago....

I reckon its gotta be another lead - however im just wondering about it appearing after a torretial downpour on a motorway ( didnt go through any puddles though)

Check the leads....

Also, give the egr valve a knock with a soft hammer (i.e. rubber or hide)

will do Mark - going to wait whilst i calm down or that tap with a mallet may be a full driver esque swing with Mr S. Sledgehammer  :(

Checked the leads i can instantly and all seemed well just the usual difficult suspects to check  :y
