I have a 2001 2.2 and the aircon isn't cool! I have had the system purged, recharged and checked for leaks, all OK. When aircon switched on or off using ECO switch, and temperature set to low, the engine note changes as you would expect from the compressor coming on line. Don't know what to look for next. There seems to be many relays in the system but manual doesn't tell you where they are. :(

When you press ECO so that the ECO on the display is off and only Auto is displayed , then try pressing the Auto button and see what happens, also have you tried the servo reset procedure ,which resets vents etc. should explain in the owners manual.

Plus, check the vac hoses at the rear of the engine bay, there are not many on the 2.2 and they are easy to get to.
Also, is it the same on both sides of the car as passenger and drivers side do have seperate blend flaps.

Thanks to all, now working fine, when a certain well known company, (Kw--f--) :-?, had charged the system they had only put in 35 gms! A note on radiator states 950 gms required. Went to local aircon specialist and system checked for leaks with dye, recharged properly and tested. ;D

That's useful information. I had mine done at the same outfit, it made bu66er all difference and I demanded my money back. I assumed I had a more severe problem but if it's just the case that they can't be trusted to fill the system with the required quantity of refrigerant I might just take it somewhere else for a recharge.
Symptoms are the same as yours. Compressor runs, some cooling but not enough.
