Hi,
Well I never did.... I fixed my dash this morning, had a burnt track on it, so soldered it together, now some of the lights on the das that did not work do now, which includes the SRS light and the EML, So I thought Bugger, or something along those lines anyway.
I did a paperclip test, could only do it with the engine off, would not work with the engine running, and these are the codes i got, any help in getting these lights off would be a great help, thanks in advance....
37 Check Light circuit
38 Oxygen sensor circuit
52 Check light Fault code lamp
62 Fuel tank vent valve
And what can i do about the SRS light????

Wonder if you bought the car like that, and previous owner/seller burned the tracks on purpose to hide the issue....
SRS needs to be read via Tech2.
The engine codes, if you were nearer, I would clear and see what reoccurs. The Lamda looks worrying, esp with your eastern location, and shit fuel in Feb....

I read on a site that if you switch the car on for 5 sces and off again 30 times it resets the codes, is this true???? read it on..... http://www.topbuzz.co.uk/info/fault_codes/fault_codes.htm .

The car does run ok, its a bit rough, but ok, got to got to chichester in it tommorow on holiday.. :(
Have done 3000 miles in it since I have had it, get appr 32-35mpg in it. :)

No, that is not quite correct.
Engine ECU wise, some codes will disappear from the flash code tests immediately once issue fixed, some won't clear at all, and some will clear after a set number of clean, successful STARTS (ie, it starts and runs for a period of time).
The SRS will never reset - that needs a chat with a Tech2 or similar. Also, with light on, in case of accident, the SRS system (inc airbags and belt pretensioners) will NOT fire.

So what do I need to do to start fixing these errors????
There is a loud ticking noise until warm, i have read on here that could be manifold cracked, so could this be the cause of the oxygen sensor???
And the other 3 codes what do they entail???
I can live without the airbags for now, get them sorted last...

One thing may be bringing the other codes on. Obviously, the light codes are now fixed. Fix the exhaust, see if that brings the lamda back into line.
Is the EML on all the time?
Incidentally, the SRS light is an MOT failure, and hence may be a grey area insurance wise in case of accident....

Just checked the EML light is always on.
Will get some one to look at the manifold, when i come back off holiday.
Also, the horn on the steering wheel does not work, someone has put a seperate swith on the side of the steering cowling for a horn, so maybe this could have something to do with the SRS, albeit it could be other one on the passenger side.

Right i have had some one check the manifold, he says it is ok, no cracks and the gasket is ok.
I have done 1700 miles since this thread started and all 4 codes are still there..
Any help please....

What exactly was done to check he manifold? as sheared studs, cracked manifolds and blown gaskets are really only visible when it's removed.

To be honest i dont really know, he had it for 4 hours, i know he took the heatshield off cause its got new bolts on it.
He said the ticking noise i heard is deffinately a lifter, and he can clean them for me for £100.
he only charged me a tenner too, cos nothing was wrong.
But i am still no closer to getting this Lambda sensor problem sorted, anyone know if they come out ok and are cleanble/servicable???

check all four cables going into your lambda sensor i had to replace mine as all 4 cables were worn down to the metal from rubbing on part of the metal near the clip.
I have been told that sometimes one of the connecting points can be pushed back so not giving a correct connection causing a fault.
So just unplug your lambda and check all the cables and connectors are fine before buying a new one. Mine Set me back about £80 for a NGK 5volt one same as the ones you get from VX but they charge alot more
