Title: help! still problems with mis-fire!!!!
Post by: ben1975 on 07 August 2007, 16:44:47
Can anyone out there help me?
I have just recently bought an omega elite and i posted a topic about misfiring.
Now i have had the rocker gasket changed, the plugs changed, the coil pack changed and the HT leads changed and its STILL misfiring, and my garage can no longer help me...

Can anyone out there give me some advice as to what to do?
I had the car converted to LPG over a month ago, and it was fine for over 3 weeks with no problems.
Could the LPG be causing the misfire?  even though it still misfires on petrol?

If anyone can help me, my warranty company wants me to take it to a garage that charges no more than 45 quid an hour labour.
Does anyone know of a vauxhall specialist (not main dealer) in the twickenham/west london area that i could take it to?

i am really fed up now  can someone help me!!!????  pls?

Can you be sure the work carried out on the LPG install was good quality?  i.e. was the inlet manifold and inlet bridge re-installed correctly, was it alll torqued up correctly? gaskets ok?  I hear from some LPG installers that the GM V6 engine is a biatch and most would prefer not to do it.

In fact did you have this problem before the LPG install?

my best mates brother is a mechanic at a vauxhall dealer and it is going in on thursday to see what it could be.
When it was installed it ran fine on both LPG and petrol for about a month then it started misfiring, it went in the garage and the rocker covers were done and the sparks changed as the wells had oil in them.
Had all that sorted and it ran fine for about a week.
Then it srarted doing it again, had the coil pack changed and the plugs again and the HT leads.

I am hoping its nothing deadly serious

got the car back last night, and it seems to run no problems when you are driving along the road, and it is prety smooth, but when you are sitting at the lights it goes phut phut and the rev counter goes up and down.
After all the work i have had done to this car, anyone got any ideas as to why its running rough at idle?

my friend at vauxhall has looked at my car, he knows what is causing the mis-fire and hopefully it will not be a big job.
But he says the LPG fitting was a disgrace, anyone know where i can complain if the garage refuse to help me?
