hi chaps. am picking up my new baby satday a 2000 on the v mv6 3.0 man. i have a 3.0 elite now whitch is a auto .how much of a change will the new car be in power and to drive? :y
-
Main difference is the Driver Involvement Pack which includes slightly lower suspension, a third pedal and recarro style seats to keep everyone in place through the bends ..... :y
-
what about power wise? 0,60 and top speed?
-
Quoted power outputs are the same, as far as I know, but the manual box lets you get to '70' quicker than the auto..... ;)
Top speed is quite fast.........

thanks m8. am cumin up your neck of the wood to fetch it satday elgin think its called. :y
-
Is the car the white one with the fancy reg plate - sort of 'police' or 999 type thing - that was on e-bay a few weeks ago?
-
MV6 has the same engine and gearbox as Elite, so performance identical. In your case, going from auto to manual, should see about 7s 0 - 60 (auto is about 7.7s). The stiffer (only slightly) and lower suspension help with handling, as do the big wide boots (assuming its a retail MV6 and not plod)...

Nice find... much the same as mine. VX figures claim the manual gearbox is worth 1 second off the 0-60 dash, but a lot depends on how you drive it -- the figures are easy to beat! The real advantage shows up on twisty roads, you can get into the right gear before the bends, and overall better control at the limit due to the lack of a torque converter. I think Mark's DTM on here said he was quicker in a 2.5 manual than a 3.0 auto on B-roads.
Enjoy! :y

Partially due to the lower gearing fitted to all 2.5s. And his 2.5 facelift is a peach....

The manual MV6s came with LSDs so more sideways fun to be had.

Not as standard, unless ex-plod. LSD very rare on non ex-plod
