Title: anybody know how to bypass a heater bypass valve??

just took my heater bypass valve off and was wondering if anybody knew how to bypass it until I get my new 1 so I can still use my car for work. cheers

Hi nij.

It might be best if you kept this on the original thread to give continuity
to the history of your problem.

From what I've read, you've got an engine temp going up to 100,
a possible over-pressurization of the cooling system,
an EML light, and water being forced out of the HBV valve.

Before I replaced the valve, I would want to investigate this a
little further if it was my car.

Not worked on a V6, but plenty here have, and they will no doubt give
you a few things to check out before fitting a new valve that may
get screwed up if you haven't fixed the original fault.

just what i thought. a few ppl seem to do it!
