Title: Start up engine sound
Post by: Donzone on 23 August 2007, 14:40:33
Hi guy's.

After diving my car for about 10 years... i realised that i dosen't make a sound when you start the engine up.

When startinng up it goes to 1100rpm and after a minute or two it goes to go to 900 followed by a sound. It still does that but no sound. Any ideas??

Mine makes no sound either, other than one cam follower which rattles a bit now and then.

There is no noise from the secondary air injection, if thats what you mean, and neither there should be if its working correctly.

Yeap. No sound at all. I remember it used to make a soun like a little kick. but now nothing at all. The revs just go down like as if the engine is becoming calmer.

Gotcha!  Realise what you refer to now.....  Mine does the same....

Aircon compressor kicking in and starting to cool the interior, is what I reckon it is.  Sound of the clutch on the pump engaging.   :y
