Last MOT test on my 5 year old 2.2 saloon reported some slight leakage of hydraulic fluid from both rear shocks. Any tips please for how to replace them.

Easy mate, one bolt at the bottom (soak in wd first) and one nut at the top inside the car.

As long as the bottom bolts aren't seized too bad ;)

Although it's better than nowt, WD40 is really a water disperser. You need Plus-Gas, Ease-it or any proprietory penetrating fluid.

wd40 is great for soaking for hours, so i always try to presoak with wd, then plusgas when i try to shift.

In my car the lower bolts were easy but the upper nuts are SEIZED! Not a chance to get them open with hand tools... Any ideas? I think I will have to try to give them a few shots with impact wrench somewhere...

Saw them off with a hacksaw.

The upper nuts? No room to use a saw... or my saw is too big :(
