hello people just new tonight ,and trying to get the hang of ,well anyway i have a 2001 omega 22 cd so far the car is great ,best car i have had , one prob was driving in very rain and a water top came on at the passenger side ,yes his feet got soaked ha ha , i cant & dont no how it got in .any thoughts please reply thanks . :)

Likely come in through pollen filter. Make sure scuttle drain is clear.

Same thing happened to me on the other miggy, TB is correct, the drain is directly under the pollen filter to the left of it as you look into filter area, mine was solid and the water came in as it was filling up the compartment.

Needs cleared out, bud. You run the risk of knackering the aircon controls if left to drip and get wet. Either a wet and dry vacuum cleaner to suck out the crap or run the risk of backlash when using a power washer down the pollen filter lower regions when blasting it clear. Don't wear white trainers as it will drip onto your shoes....... :-[
Remember to replace the filter as well as its FUBAR'ed if it gets wet..... :y

thanks for the replys .do i get to the polin filter through the bonet at the top right hand side ? done a service and the only thing i missed was the polin filter .will check it out , if i find it . :) :)

Standing at the front of the car, pollen filter is located up and to the right, under the splash guard where the wiper stalks come out of the car. Theres a rubber weather strip runs left and right across the car above the bulkhead. At the extreme right endyou will see a lift up panel. Filter is hiding under there, water is a few inches below. A torch may be required..... ;)

Just been out and looked, the compartment has about 3 inches of water in it, I put a metal coat hanger down there and pulled out a hand full of leaves, checked the carpets on the passenger side, the sponge underneath is wet, not soaking, just damp, do you think this may be the prob with the air con, but surly the electrics are sealed in some way as not to allow water on them.

Yes, no and no....... :'(
Get rid of the water and crud as, when it overfows into the cabin, not only does it soak the carpet and stink it can and does burn out the aircon speed controller as its not waterproof. First step to get rid of the cr*p and let it dry out. You may need another aircon fan speed motor (or similar gubbins....) . Someone more cleverer may confirm or assist........ :-/

It's about 19" x 12" and is held in place by a clip on both sides towards the top. The front panel will then drop forward and you can slide the filter out. Yours originally should have been a grey carbon one but Vx may try and sell you a white flimsy one for a pre '99 car. The part no you need is 93165208 .... £14.80 retail.... £10.78 on Trade Club - my dealer never has them in stock so you may have to pre-order.
The blocked drain empties into your engine bay - but be careful if you poke around with a screwdriver as there may be electrical wiring down there too. The rubber grommet is about 2" in diameter and can be helped along from the engine bay once located. HTH :y

The fan and it's speed controller would be in the path of water coming in by design (fan needs to be there obviously, speed controller mounted there for airflow.
Obviously, water should not come in this way, and is a result of people not taking care of their car.

With the amount of crap I took out of the drain obviously the previous owner did not.

hello people i checked my polin filter and yes its stinkin and full of water ,got the water out all dirt at the bottom is that were the drin is ,going to get a new fiter will it stop the water .thanks ;)

You need to ensure the drain is clear, if not, next rain it will happen again.
There is a drain just below the loom grommet.
To check drain is clear, pour jug of water in, should clear very quickly.

sorry if its obvious, but the filter is a pollen/dust etc filter, not a water filter.. It will let water through and disintegrate if the water gets that high.
Its a pain to reach the drain point - its right at the bottom. There is a maintenance guide on here that recommends using a piece of flex (or a piece of stiff wire) which works well. When you figure out where it emerges (either in engine bay or wheel arch) you can attack the rubber sleeve from that end too. I don't suggest a pressure washer though ;)

Yes mate, It is being sorted through warranty, I did not bother with Vx again, what a load ob Bo*"o*cks they came out with, went to an air con specialist who has done omegas before with this problem, he has to remove a lot of the underdash and remove the Shuttle, that will most likely make sense to some of you, and he has to check out other items, he read of a list of things it could be, none are expensive but its the time needed to do the job.
Thank god for warranty, while the car is being done he is going to let me have his 3.2 vectra for a few days, did not know they did a 3.2.
