is there a how to for cleaning the breathers and throttle bodies on a v6. I've not done it before and I want to be sure I do it right. the haynes manual is about as much use as a square ball bearing.

After spending several hours and several cans of carb cleaner on my breathers, I am of the opinion that the right thing to do is buy a new one from Vx, I believe that they are around £20-£30... the 'short' plenum needs only one box, the 'long' plenum has also the front bit but luckily that one is easy to clean.

The thread directly below this! ;D
Here is the guide;

Fantastic! thanks ;D

cleaned the breathers today. I'm amazed at the amount of crud that came out of an apparently 'healthy' engine. I'm glad I followed the advice of the people on here and got it done straight away. Thanks guys ;D

It took me a couple of hours but I was taking my time with it. I had to splash out on a torx socket set but all the seals looked reasonably new and in good condition so I took a chance and left them on. I did smear a little fresh oil onto the O rings though, just to get a good seal. :y
