Title: water temp

Random question but does anyone know what the normal operating temp for a v6 should be?

A personal bone of contention for me and have had a few long days as a result....

I have had an ongoing tale of woe regarding the temp of my 3 litre.

Flushed it, changed the rad, done the thermostat, done the waterpump etc. only to discover that the guage was telling fibs.  Once it was set up by tech2, it now runs mid guage (95 or so) or less most of the time.  It does make the occassional foray towards 100 now if stuck in traffic, but its normally midguage or below.

Mine is a 98 minifacelift, by the way.

General rule of thumb on Omegas is cruising just below mid point, rising to just above mid point  in traffic before fans drag it down again...

Thats pretty much what mine does.  I just wanted to be sure it was right. Once again, many thanks :)

most of the time mine stays steady at 95 ish..only in slow or stopped traffic does it go to 97 and then fans pull it back..never had it above that on any situation...my old mega would run 97 all time then creap to 100..eventually the fans would calm it dow.....think anywhere between 95/97 should be fine

Reason I say mid point on gauge is because facelifts are calibrated different (even though the gauge is otherwise identical)....
