Title: 2.5 v6 removal of dis pack
Post by: road_rescue on 08 September 2007, 13:05:15
Whats the easiest way to do this? If somone can give me a clue that would be great, as I don't fancy rupturing myself again trying to fix the thing!

i did it by removing the scuttle and windscreen wiper motor assmebly, take care when removing clips under rubber at base of windscreen, then you can remove plenum top and you can more or less look straight down on top of it, there are 4 torx bolts but i needed to use a 10mm socket i thik it was as there was not much clearance beetween the block and dis unit.

wipers off, scuttle off, plenum off.

Long reach ( extension) pieces on your socket and jobs a good `un.

You wont be able to see what your doing but its done by feel - dis has 4 torx bolts, one in each corner.

Oh and be prepared to be cut and sore afterwards  ::)

Do what TB does and get yourself a tunnie for jobs such as this.

tunnie (n)
A youth equipped with gadget arms who can be persuaded to assist in the more difficult to reach tasks of Omega maintenance.
