today in a moment of madness I deceided to reply to a advert for an old frontera diesel lwb. when i got there I checked the usual stuff, then asked if i could take it for a test, the owner said it was ok & left me to it.So I manouvored it out of his drive & proceeded down the lane to the main road, it seemed a bit sluggish but I carried on, then down a country lane I thought I would test the FWD system it went in ok, as I was going down this quite lane there was a gate open into a ploughed field so I drove in (like you do) then changed my mind & turned round but on exiting the field a people carrier came bounding along & this is when i found the brake servo was faulty, missed them by a whisker, Anyway made my way back to the sellers house, after telling him the brakes were well dodgy I made my excuses & left, I was glad to get back in the miggy with the powerfull progressive braking, has any other member had a harrowing test drive?

I bought a 1991 Ford Escort 3 years ago, got it about 30 miles home from the GARAGE I bought it from. I turned the wheel right, to turn a bend, only at about 40mph - and as I turned the wheel right, the car swerved to the left, completely took control away from me, I could NOT force the wheel back over. Thankfully didn't damage anymore than a hedge and the car... but it was deemed to be a mechanical failure, so I was relieved of all liability... I also had to have a full refund from the seller!

Mate of mine test drove a Supra 3.0 Turbo "just to see what they're like". Gave it a few too many beans round a roundabout and oversteered into a lamp post. ::)
Bought the car and repaired it instead of owning up ;D
It didn't turn out to be a bad decision in the end. It was an awesome car once the dents had been repaired :y
