This is on the 3.0L US Omega (Catera). I know the EGR is generally listed as behind the engine, but maybe the Catera is different. I have provided the links to two pictures in the same general area (by the coolant fill reservoir). I cannot seem to find any reference to the EGR in the service manual.

Thanks in advance.

Neither.
IF the US cars have one, its bolted to the left of plenum.... ...sorry, I have no picture to hand.

That depends an the model year. Up to around 1999/2000, the EGR is as said to the left of the plenum when viewing from the front. If yours is a 3.0L it should still have the EGR, though Later cars had no EGR. See below.

Late car no EGR:

Picture one....I dont know what it is (does not exist on europeon car) but, judging by the pipes, its not going to be EGR as they wont take the heat of exhaust gases.
Picture two is the aux coolant pump that circulates hot coolant through heater matrix.
Do you have a picture of the device mounted on the right side of the plenum behind the idle valve.
