Title: RPM signal for my LPG
Post by: The Cambelt Kid on 14 September 2007, 22:30:59
Hi Guys,

I wonder if anyone could help me as i bring my project LP6 to a close?

I need an RPM signal which the LPG ECU monitors, if the RPM stops, ie- in an accident, the solenoid valves at both ends of tghe car shut off and make things a great deal safer!

Anyhow, i need to find this RPM signal source and the LPG supplier advised that i should use one of the cables going to the plug pack (coil per plug on my facelift), problem is i'm not too sure if i should.  I can see x5 cables going going to each bank, on the drivers bank i can see:-

BK (thicker of them all)
BK/RD
BL/RD
BL/YL
BL/GN

I understand that there should be one 'live' and the rest ground, but i am not too sure.

Any helpers out there on this one, pleassseee ;)

I have the RPM cable and a few rubber pipes to install now before my LPG is finally installed, whoo hooo!! finally i'm getting off the road of burning money   8-)

I use the green wire too.

Make sure the wire is kept away from anything hot like prefacelift EGRs unlike a professional installer I could name >:(

I managed to locate the green wire (No.35) on  the lower of the two ECU plugs.  I clipped into it with a vampire clip and all tested ok 8-)

Cheers
