Car was fine last night, locked it all up, went bed...
Came to it thismornin, unlocked it, and the central locking didnt engage. Funny I thought, dodgy servo??
Got in the car, put key in, nothing... Not even a click! No lights working, not a sausage!
Now, is there a certain procedure or anything i need to do after fitting a new battery?? Other than resetting the windows and sunroof, putting the code in the radio, etc... Anything to do in regards to any other toys on the Elite??

Check the battery, the little green indicator on it is black :(

Any sign of a weak battery before - wonder if something 'stuck on', eg sticky relay etc...

Make sure you turn everything off at night ? :)
More seriously, I had a flat battery 3 times in the first 2 months of owning mine, and was convinced I had a battery/alternator problem ... I didn't.. it was operator error :(
If you leave, either deliberately .. or in my case... accidentaly, the indicator switch in any position except neutral, as you remove the key the sidelights on the side the indicator is selected to will come on, its a parking setting that I knew nothing about .. then !!!
So you have 2 bulbs burning away until you next return to the car ... yup .. more than enough to flatten the battery, :(
You may already know this .. in which case .. apologies .. if you didn't ... it might not be the problem anyway... but there you go ... my stupidity is now public :)

entwood - already know about the parking lights :) (made that mistake on the old Omega so your not the only one ;D ) I always make sure everything is switched off, I even turn the radio off before the ignition!
TB - Pete said when he picked it up he had to jumpstart it, but the previous owner said the battery was new... Did look a bit dirty tbh, so they were probably telling porkies!

I think disconnecting alternator overnight is well worth trying at least its free :)

Well I've disconnected the lot now and its on charge for the night...
Just incase, anyone got a ball-park figure on how much a new battery from Vauxhall will set me back??

£21 + VAT if its the 44AHr one...

yeah was 44AH not so long ago.
Although they only charged me £20 + VAT for it :) So hopefully the one for the Omega will be a little cheaper than TC price too :)
