Post by: M-Tek Performance on 17 September 2007, 12:02:01
Hi,

If I wanted to put cruise control on a 2.5 TD, if i bought the correct stalk, what would I need to do to get it working?

I know, but its a case of buying a TD or buying a V6 and having it converted.

the V6 will be around the £1k mark, plus another £1300 to convert.

the TD is probably around £1500.

Confirm it's plug & play but you will need a crosshead screwdriver to remove the lower steering-wheel nacele
The correct VX part is 9181012 (2 wire type)

if you are after a facelift 2.5TD they are not the most common thing to get hold of

Most facelift diesels were 2.2DTi

All 2.5TDs have cruise enabled in ECU.  This causes ECU to store an error if you don't have a stalk fitted - typical BMW!
