What checks have you done to suggest your matrix is blocked?
Have you checked your HBV for correct operation?
Is the pipe going into the bulkhead getting hot?
Have you done reset on your digital controller?
Is your vacuum unit working correctly?
Are your flaps/levers connected correctly and not broken?
Loads of stuff to check before plumping for a heater matrix.

What's wrong with the matrix? Leaking or clogged? Are you sure it's the matrix?
I'd check the heater bypass valve is allowing coolant into the matrix first, then that the blending flaps are moving OK to select cold / warm air (is it cold both sides or just driver's?).
If it still looks like a blocked matrix try disconnecting the matrix hoses and running a hose pipe through it, followed by getting some forte flush and flushing out the whole cooling system.

You are, of course, at liberty to do anything you wish. But why not do the checks
that Kevin and I suggested first?
If you approach fault finding in an illogical manner, it's like putting on a blindfold
and playing a game of pin the tail on the donkey.
Check first if the coolant pipe flowing from your engine bay through the engine
bulkhead to the car interior is getting hot. ie is hot water reaching the matrix.
If not, you've got a problem in the engine bay area. If yes, then you have a problem
with either your heater control system or the matrix.
Really suggest you check this first before proceeding to check anything else.

Hi
I had similar problem with my old 2.0 16V about a year ago. Once you have confirmed it is the heater matrix that is blocked, do the hose pipe flush in both directions. Mine was very bad and I had to do it about 5 times before it finally cleared. You think it is done as it blows hot for 1 or 2 days and then goes cool again, but it is a very chepa repair costing nothing more than a bit of coolant.
Hope this helps.
Best Regards
Mike
