Title: coolant check on read out

brother in law is away on holiday and he has ask me to look at his car,car is showing on read out coolant check and is not losing any coolant,its a 2.5 v6 reflection any ideas any one,would be so greatful :y :y :y

Those sensors are not known for their reliability.

1st thing to try is jabbing at the float with a pencil / screwdriver or similar, in case it is gunged up, this may free it.

If the sensor is knackered, then you can unplug the connector from the bottom of the tank and shove a paperclip in it, this will silence the alert, If you want to retain the functionaility, then get a new tank.

IIRC a new header tank is around the £30 mark. You get rid of the warning and it looks good when you lift the bonnet! :y  :y
