In the next week or so am going to do a water change and ust the original red antifreeze as at present have halfords blue stuff..and after seeing a picture on ebay of a mega for sale with the tank almost spotless and nice pink liquid thought i should restore mine to its original colour . Question is ,short of buying a new expansion bottle, how do you get them to come up so clean???on last change i removed it and filled with limescale remover and pocked around with a bottle brush but it still looks really dirty..any ideas for a transformation?

Never found a way. They are around £30 - £35 new...

Unfortunatly the plastic used does discolour somewhat as they age and you can not restore them to there original state. They are about £21 from vx so not that bad to replace.

Try sticking it in the dishwasher

Actually a bit of dishwasher powder and some very hot water might be worth a try - and slightly more SWMBO-friendly than putting it in the dishwasher itself. A soak in white vinegar might be worth a try too.

Sounds like I am on a loosing battle, especially if I need to enter into the kitchen and use the dishwasher for unhygeneic things..in the wise words of SWMBO ???..think it might be safer to buy a new one then..thanks for help
