Could someone tell me how to take the glove box out , or at least how to get the door off of it I need to get to the back of the handle to see what has happened in there . I can see two screws one either side of the edge of the box but it wont come out is there something I am missing ::)

Two / three (at work & can't remember) silver coloured screws at the top edge of the glove box to be removed which allows the passenger air bag to be lifted clear of the top of the glove box. Then there are 4 screws, one in each corner of the glove box and, depending on year of your car another screw that's at the top left hand side of the glove box that goes from the side of the car. This screw requires the D shaped end of the dash to be prised out. Sorry but I can't be more specific but it's from memory! ;) :y :y :y

Im now a pro on this ;D
I am assuming its the same as a facelift :-/
If it is and you have airbag above the glovebox......
Drop down the glovebox door .... on the inside at the top of the glovebox you will see 3 torx bollts that hold the airbag cover down......take these out.....then pull the airbag over up and you will find 2 more torx screws holding the glovebox in either side of the glovebox.....

Once you get the D shape cover off...clip on......theres 2 screws holding the side air vent in :y

I know the first time I removed mine I ended up breaking it cos Mr Haynes said there were only 4 screws!! :( My lack of patience ended up needing a tube of Araldite! ;) ;) I did email them a picture of it though once I'd got the g'box out. ;D ;D

Thanks for that I did wonder if there was something up under the air bag but I did not want to start playing about with the screws around that. Do I have to do anything ie diconnect the battery to move the airbag about I am a bit wary of these not having had any experience of them :-/ What usually breaks on the glove boxes is it the latches on the sides that break :question it looks like a pin has dropped out of the actual handle it seems to only be attached on one side I acn still open it ok but it has to be held in position to release the latch .

You are only undoing the front cover of the airbag......so no you dont have to disconnect it....the airbag is still screwed down :y
-
If you are worried about setting the airbag off, disconnect the battery and leave it a few minutes before starting work.
Good luck

If it's just the latch that's broken I'm sure that Graham C/Omegatoy managed to pull the hinge pin out without removing the whole glovebox.

Thank you for the replies :y I have managed to take it out and repair it this morning :y How many screws :o after taking it out and taking it to bits the only problem was that one of the little pins had come out of the pivot point on the handle all that work just to push it back in . Anyway thanks again its all back together and working ok ;)
