tbh the state of the blue one (at the moment) doesn't look too bad... aslong as you can read german  ;D ;D ;D

the rattly noises are worrying though...  Still, not like an AR35 will cost the earth really!

I still think the mini-facelift looks better than the facelift. :P

Run for cover

Nah I agree with you :)  Only thing I prefer from the Facelift to the Pre, is the leather interior and thats it :y

Busy day today

Went to the otherside of Chester to remove the second hand box which was quite easy as the engine had already been removed. I thought I was going to die when I carried the box complete with torque convertor from the car to the rear of the house on my own (about 60ft :'() then gave it a good clean up ready for the strip down to replace the thrust washers, filter and gaskets. I then started to strip the Elite ready for the box which I hope will go in next Sunday (finger crossed). Its now time for a nice bath and a couple of beers :y

With help from Timbuk, (cheers Doug) we managed to get the old duff gearbox out and the new gearbox in with no dramas, just got to refit the downpipes then do the cam cover gaskets and clean the breathers and thats project two sorted :y

Ive decided to call it a day (its persisting down) but ive got the cam cover gaskets done and the breathers cleaned out and rebuilt as far as the plenum, ive also drilled the two broken bolts from the exhaust that snapped, so next weekend should see the Elite back on the road :y

I woke this morning feeling like I had been 10 rounds with Tyson just shows im very out of condition and getting a bit long in the tooth for rolling around on the floor, but after a nice soak in the bath a cool beer and a weeks rest I should be fighting fit again (yeah right) ::)

Certainly does look different now to how it did last time I saw it!

I like your multi-colored path though - brings back memories of my old 8v rebuild days  :D

Will have to see what its like when you've got it all done  :y

Im a bit stuck for space at the moment Mike, I still have the Rover 25 to finish off but that might end up at Timbuks new garage ;)

Ive just had a trip out in the 3.2 and what a car :y I went down to Timbuks about 110 mile round trip and it performed brilliantly and returned 31.2 mpg down the A41. Next mission is ask Mark for the gearbox upgrade and try and pursuade the wife to let me keep it which I dont think will be to hard because she managed to fall asleep on both trips so it must be comfy.
