Howdoo Don.  Principle been covered many times and reasonably straightforward, actually.

From engine cold, put interior heater on hot.
Top up header tank, leave cap off.
Start engine and allow to warm gently, squeezing the large hose beside the battery frequently to 'burp' air out into the header tank.
Top up tank as required throughout.
Ensure interior is blowing hot air, may take a wee while.
Once temp guage is warm, replace cap and take for a drive.  Ensure temp guage is all normal and OK.
Leave car to cool overnight then check level in the morning and top up as required.
All should now be OK.
