Should the dials and switches on the CD player illuminate ?

if the stereo has gone dark as it did in a previous Omega of mine it may infact be a faulty button used to switch
the unit on/off. where as this will not affect the opperation of the unit as a whole it does activate the lighting of it. it cost me £20 to have the button changed. look in yellow pages for audio repairs near to you who'll sort you out....

There is also a separate supply cable for the illumination to the headunit (standard on all H/U's). If it doesn't illuminate check first that the unit is correctly seated, give it a firm push back to check loose connection. If not, check supply from the relevant wire (usually orange)  :y
