hi guys (again) have half sdorted it, the crank sensor is no connected to the correct cable/socket, where is the socket that the cable plugs into within the engine bay.

Be aware that Sir Crazydad has a V6 and you say you have a 4 pot 2.0L 16V.
So the positions won't be the same.
As you have a 94, you probably have the old wiring route. They were changed
to avoid Alternator spikes screwing up the Cam sensor.
You need to re-route the Cam Sensor if this is the case. Mine comes out of
the top of the Cambelt cover and snakes back around the the inlet
manifold and round the back of the engine to the ECU.
My Crank sensor comes up over the Cambelt cover, connects to the plug near
the Intake trunking and then follows the main cable duct back across the
the Cambelt cover to come around the front of the engine to link up with
the ECU.
The plug on your Crank Sensor Cable and the Plug it connects to will both
have 1-2-3 labelling on them which need to line up.
