Title: fitting AR35 to 2.5 V6 issues
Post by: Varche on 20 October 2007, 20:23:19
I have the thrust washer problem with my 2.5. Rather than try and get the housing machined and new washer as per the excellent how to guide I think it would be easier to fit another box.

I tried to do a search on issues and problems of fitting an AR35 gearbox to a 2.5 V6 but failed.

What do you need off the donor car? Are there any problems with compatability of wiring, bellhousing, torque convertor, selector switch and so on?

I have a couple of trolley jacks and can get the car safely up in the air. I might even make a cradle out of wood if it would help as I will be doing the job on my own.

Thanks in anticipation

Possible on your own, but much much easier with some help

If the donor box came of a petrol model, It's a direct fit...

AR25 to AR35 is direct swap unless one of them is off a tractor, then its a bellhousing anf TC change
