Title: Fuse for heated seats
Post by: ians on 29 October 2007, 14:57:13
Can someone advise which fuse it is?  Seems that neither driver nor passenger seat heaters are working in my Elite.

Cheers
Ian

Even better - now marked as a favourite :y

However it looks like that fuse
14-30A Power steering, cigarette lighter, heated front seats, electrically operated rear window blind, air circulation system, electric air conditioning, heated rear window

would take out a load of other stuff which I would have noticed, not least the power steering.

Any suggestions of what might cause both seat heaters to stop other than both elements to fail?

I think there's a relay in the circuit, if that's gone they won't power up.

Purely from memory - (hope I can do better than with the wipers! :-? I'm at work & Mr Haynes excellent manual is at home ;) ) I don't think the fronts have a relay and are wired direct from the switch. The rears use an ignition latched relay so they don't get left on for ever.
I'd check to see if there a voltage to the seats first, easiest thing to check, a good chance that both seat heaters are goosed if their fuse is OK

Most likely to be the heater pads  :'(, but check for power to seats to confirm (and be careful of the pretensioners!
