does anyone know if a superchip for a 3.0 fit into my 2.5 ecu and work correctly or is it a complete no no

Not sure, user M-Tek would be your best bet to ask....

Know the 3 litre cams certainly make a difference, just dunno if the 3.0 chip will further assist or not...  :-/

I asked MTek the same Q tonight, as I am also likely to fit 3.0 cams

He says I will need a hybrid chip...

I'd say it's not likely to work.

In the first part, unless the ECU hardware is exactly the same the firmware in the chip might not be compatible with it, which could cause all sorts of issues. You really need the part number of the ECU and get a reputable supplier to give you a matching chip.

Secondly, assuming the ECU worked OK with the new chip, it will be calibrated for the bigger engine so the mapping will be completely wrong. I'm sure it'd run but it would be rough.

The ECU for the 2.5 is a different version to the one for the 3.0, so the chips arent interchangable.

You would need a chip for your 2.5 ECU.
