I posted an article on here roughly 2 or 3 months ago about a successful 'fix' i had done with my selecter switch. The problem I had was a 'disco' of lights in the selecter led panel, then limp mode. On removal and stripping of the switch, the pcb tracks had worn right where the contact sits for 'D'. I managed to repair the track with tinned wire and some resin from a glass fibre kit. Well, she has finally given up the ghost. I remember a few ppl asking to let them know how long it lasts.....well, for those ppl the post is on here somewhere, but I know that I have covered approx 6000 miles since the repair. Not bad really.
Getting to the point, where would be the best place to get a replacement? Vx dealers, so I've been told, charge £125 for the part. Quite eay to fit I know.
Failing that, does anybody know of a member here that may haver a good secondhand one?? I have posted in the parts section anyway but I need one pretty soon.
Any help appreciated..... :)
Thanks.......

When I drowned my TD by driving into (but not out of) flood water in July, after the motor was rescued by blowing the ingested water out the injector ports, a few days later I got the Disco light problem & limp mode from the gearbox
Water had got into the switch, luckily the guy who fixed the engine had a ZF box from a Ford Granada in the shed out the back & the selector switch was identical
He fitted it & problem solved so don't restrict your search to Omegas, there are probably several other cars that use the same box that can be used as a source

I recently had to fit selector switch, had disco lights also. Dealer quoted me £235+vatl
at first they didn`t know what I was after evidently they call it Switch Programme Selector
part number 96017511 same for all engines exept (Y22XE and Y25TD). I got mine through Parts Gateway, company called LVM. next day delivery, first one was faulty they
replaced it next day and collected first one. Paid £79 for it but it was worth it gears have been fine since, no more limp home mode. Hope this helps you.
