I have a 1999 3.0L V6 Elite which cut out on the way home from work last week as if it had ran out of petrol. i.e. engine just stopped without warning and no message on the dashboard. A mechanic friend found a split in an air intake hose at the front of the engine. I have replace the hose but the car continues to cut out without any obvious reason (it ran for 8 miles then stopped). Is it possible that the split in the air hose has damaged the air flow sensor? Has anyone got any ideas?
Thanks,
Derrick

Some diagnostic codes would help.
Does your friend have a computer (Tech2 or other) for retrieving fault codes?

What Kev is referring to is a paperclip test to show which fault codes are or are not present to give a kind of base line for any web based diagnostics to start from.
Have a read of this (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1152601768) to see whats meant then post up the results.... :y
