Title: A very bad day
Post by: dtnorth on 26 October 2007, 22:00:13
A very Bad Omega day

Morning:  7am.

item 1) Blowing exhaust flexi pipe on the way to work.
Sounded like a flatulent 747 eating chilli.

item 2) Front Tyre burst on the way to work.
           Only 6 months old.

item 3) Changed burst tyre wheel and fitted spare on a hill.
           A never before used spare.
Burst tyre wheel fused to axle.
Prized off with a clawhammer. Eventually

item 4) BIG MISTAKE1.   Called KwikFit to price Flexi Exhaust Component.
( KF Response: Bring it on down and well have a look )

Afternoon: 13:00 PM

item 5) Freshly Installed spare wheel tyre now flat.
             OH F@*K
Hobbled and farted all the 1.5 miles to KwikFit.

item 6)  Both CATS blowing and obvious tyre knackeration.

item 7)  Having no front tyre and no spare by this time, therefore
            well up for a shafting.

Lo and Behold the lowest priced tyre in stock = £141.00 + etc. etc.

               OH Bug@&r.

item 8)  OK, What about the farting Exhaust, I asked innocently.
             £377.00 for both CATS.

              OH Bug@&r.

Does anyone know if public transport works yet?

I had to give up buying a nice new 40" LCD to fix the bloody thing.

However if choosing between a nice new 40" telly and the bus or a lovely smooth car,
and a crap 28" CRT the choice is clear.

No pubic transport for me...... Pun Intended...

Cheers...

The scary bit comes when her indoors moves down to Wales from Scotland, all expectant
of the lovely telly, and I tell her to look at the lovely new CAT s and Tyre.

She'll be well impressed.  And she doesnt mind buses.

Oh Dear.....

You should of had a repair section welded into the original cat......they do a replacement flexi joint for about 20-30 quid.

....and Kwik Fit....

Public transport round here is about as much use as a fish with tits, hence I rely on my Omega. I'm sure you could get it sorted for much less........I recently saw an ad in the local paper from Kwik-Fit. They were doing the Pirelli P-6000 225/55 ZR 16 for £82.00 fitted and balanced. Nearly half what they quoted you??? Plus, Fast-Fit (Wilco) were doing the same for £79.95 fitted and balanced. I'm sure that someone will be able to help out more with the exhaust prices........and bad days do come with the good days  ;D  ;D    :y

OOpps... Got the nasty from the wife.

Told to get rid and get a Ford Focus or something trivial.

She just doesnt get it.

Perhaps its a man thing, flaunting around in an over expensive barge.

I always used, the need for excessive crumple zones, to justify its costs.

Strangely enough, I came clean and simply said that Im sentimentally attached to the
bloody thing.   And she understood.  :-/

I now understand women even less than I thought I did.....

Ha....they're all the same mate.....when the Omega is running well with plenty of petrol in the tank then the missus is fine. When it comes to taxing it, putting in petrol or whatever, i get 'its too expensive, too big' and suddenly becomes my car and not 'our' car...........?????? :-X

^^^^^^^^^^^^^
You try finding a car that's free to run!?!

Women seem to think that if you buy a new one, it won't need taxing, new tyres, or exhausts. They're all the bloody same (Cars, that is. Not women.....On second thoughts, yes they're all mad).

....still cheaper than public transport though. And last time I looked the local bus didn't have a boot to put your shopping in either :) Rant over  :y
