Title: HELP ADVICE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED
Post by: Radar on 30 October 2007, 21:06:27
Here's the story (from a newbie with not much know how!)
- Car cut out a couple times at low speed - (cleaned breathers and not cut out since)
- Doing about 70 and car "jumps", goes into limp mode with autobox warning on MID - Got ecus read and coming up with: (Gearbox side)Range sensor & Torque Converter (Engine side) Throttle position sensor, Coil Management, Vehicle Speed Sensor. My mechanic suggested all these could not go wrong at same time so reset ecus and 2 weeks later the same thing happens, this time the following codes appear:
P0136 - 02S12 Open Circuit
P1555 - Undocumented Code
P1550 - Electronic Throttle Control Reduced Power
P0100 - MAF Sensor Circuit Low Input
P0120 Throttle Position Sensor Circuit Incorrect Signal

I cannot believe all these things are wrong and wouold be greatful for any suggestions please. Car has done 71,000 miles

Does the gearbox change gear smoothly through the gears normally?

The gears do change normally except for sometimes a bit of a judder when going around 40-50ish, when changing into top gear. It seems sometimes the box cannot make its mind up which gear it wants to remain in.

Thanks

Forgot to mention once when it cut out, i was able to restart the engine fine but despite depressing the throttle, the revs did not change. I switched off and on again and everything was fine. Not sure if probs are related.

Did you see if the codes were current, or stored ("Present" or "Not Present" on Tech2)?

if it happens again, pop it up the a34 to Brackley, and we'll get some live data from it...

Hi there, low and behold started the car today and spanner light on with MID showing auto gearbox check. Is it poss. for you to get some live data on it please (would also look to have software update for good measure!)

Anytime your free let me know.

Looking forward to your reply
