Title: door lock problem
Post by: omegarobbie on 04 November 2007, 15:03:53
One of my rear doors doesn't work with the central locking. I tried a new motor but it appears there is no power going to the motor in the first place. Any ideas? where can I trace this back to?

Do other electrics work on that door (eg windows)

First port of call is the connector plug.

Open the door completely and you will see the rubber conduit carrying the cables from the door to the centre pillar. If you pull the rubber off as it enters the pillar you will find a connector plug just inside.

Check it is seated properly and there are no corroded or loose connections.  :y

window works fine, just the lock wont pop up or down with the rest of the doors. I'll check that connector now, fingers crossed!

Whilst you are there, you could also check there is no broken wires etc. All that opening and shutting does tend to take it's toll.  :-/

Good luck.  ;)
