Title: strange noise from behind passenger side of dash

Hello

The last two days my Omega (MV6 auto estate, 2000/W) has started making a strange gurgle/scratchy noise from behind the passenger side dash.  It does it when the engine is running (from cold/start up and continues to make the noise once warmed up).  Doesn't matter if the heater/air con/climate control is on or off.  The only pattern I can see is that the noise gets a bit worse when accelarating, however if I rev it in neutral, I can't hear any odd noises atall.

Anyone any ideas?

Have you checked the well where the pollen filter is, maybe its full of water and leaves due to the drain being blocked at the bottom of the well.

Just a thought.

Check the scuttle that side for water (gurgles) ?  or leaves (scratchy ?)  always worth ensuring that scuttle drain is clear ... gets expensive if you get a flood through it !!  :)

Remember as well that the secondary air injection system hides beneath the front nearside wing and can be noisy on startup for30 seconds or so.  Sometimes longer if its rubber ducked.  Very obvious from under the headlamp if standing outside the car when started.....
