Title: Tyre Advice
Post by: Muskie on 13 November 2007, 18:45:43
Just had a thought on Tyres.
What is the general thought on the best tyre to put on the omega for both performance noise and durability?
I have not had the car that long an would appreciate any advise as to what to buy and what to avoid.
Thanks

Got Goodyear Eagle F1's all round on mine - not too much noise from them, good grip in the dry, and good grip in the wet (as found out when some numptie pulled out in front of me on a roundabout tonight!  >:( )

im using Dunlop SP9090's, they wear well and seem to be a half decent tyre.

Goody F1's are the daddy, no two ways about it, only thing i have found is they do wear a bit quickly....but that could be to do with my driving style  ;D

The tyre's on my car are all Nokian.

A name i have never heard off before.

I must say, for me there the best tyre i've ever had.

For general conditions Michelin Pirmacy HP,

but for very high speeds mich.Pilot sport or eagle F1..But these sports tires are not good for rain..

edit : goodyear excellence and continental sporticontact 2 are also worth checking but they are not soft ..

I have Toyo's on mine, feel really confident whatever the weather but are a little noisey at speed.

Pirelli p7000 very hard, and some tramlining, easy to get the backend to break out.

Hello mate,

I have used TOYO tyres for about 6 years and never had 1 problem ever !! i currently have the new F4 series on my Cupra R and as with all TOYO tyres they are fantastic,

Great dry / wet grip

Low road noise

Comfortable ride

Good last ability.

Not to pricey either.

Hope this helps you mate....

Hi Muskie. Had problems with Pirelli's on my last car. They started to DE-TREAD(only done 10k) 3 out of four tyres (maybe had a faulty batch or something) Ill not touch em again.. Got Michelin's on  this car, long lasting, not to noisey and more important to me SAFE.

Mark

Got Pirelli P7's on front and Michelin Pilot something's on rear - as long as they've got tread, I'm happy!!  :D
