Title: Odd heater problems with v6 2.5

Hi,

I've got a 2000 W plate Omega 2.5 V6 CDX which has climate and air con. My problem is that when the heater is on, the only vents that blow out hot air are the rear ones!! That obviously shows the heater matrix is working and that the car is arriving at the correct running temperature at some point.

If using the demister or opening the front vents or actually the heater anywhere in the front, I turn into an ice cube very quickly!

Any thoughts?

PS. Before I bought it recently, it had a problem with the oil cooler which was replaced and all flushed out.

Have you reset the climate control? Do this by holding down AUTO and OFF...

Sounds like classic vac feed fault....my money is that when the oil cooler was done soemthing at the back of the engine was disturbed and not put back properly.

I haven't, I'll give that a go.  What does that achieve?

Is that likely to give the affect of heat for the rear passengers and Siberia in the front?

Where do I find that bad boy?  Is it just a standard vacumn pipe?  If the car is running will I be able to hear a whole lot of sucking going on in the engine bay somewhere?

If you look in the maintenance guide section you will find info on where the vac pipes in the engien bay run

The ones to check is the one that goes from the rear left of the engine bay where it attaches to the brake servo vac feed and passes across the rear of the engine to the pollen filter/scuttle area.

A second pipe then travels back across the rear of the engine to the rear left of the bulk head and connects to the point where the heater matrix pipes pass through to the cabin.

A further shorter pipe then comes from the point where the heater matrix pipes pass to the top of the heater bypass valve.

Also check that the brake servo pipe is securly connected to the plenum (right side) and that the pipe is not damaged at all.
