Is your power steering fluid level ok? If low you can hear the pump working overtime!!

Pick a straight road, stereo off.
Get an ear for the noise of the car on the straight and narrow then see what difference there is when turning right or left hand corners.
If noise is apparent on right handers, can indicate play in front nearside wheel bearing. Not that common on Omega, but also not unheard off.
Will be most obvious on roundabouts.
Bearing is a composite part and can easily be replaced with a pattern from e-bay, round about £25 if you are carefull.
Jack up, remove caliper, remove disc, remove chuffin tight central hub nut and replace bearing unit. In best Haynes manner, reassembly is reverse of removal....
PS - check the maint guides for the length of scaffolding bar you may need for nut removal..... ;) :D
-
Jack the front up and grasp the wheel at 6 and 12 oclock and wiggle it, repeat at 3 and 9 oclock....

How about the sh!t shield behind the brake disc? Can sometimes have the slightest of dents/misalignment that only manifests when all loaded up on cornering. One of those noises thats basically nothing but sounds like a lot, due to wheel rotation.
Also, mudflaps??....
-
Exactly what I was thinking; the brake disc shield
-
:y thanks did not think about that i shall have a look in morning
and let you know

I changed the front wishbones two weeks ago and then took the car to have the alignment and camber adjusted.
Next day I noticed a " springy clunk " if you can understand, when turning right . I thought, brake disc shield.
Anyway , jacked it up took the wheel off and had a look. The idiot of a mechanic had left the 18mm ring spanner still attached to the upper knuckle/strut bolt. ::) which was catching on the track rod as it turned.

Sell the spanner on e-bay! :D
