Title: LPG install 2.0ltr and Cambelt/Pump change

Hi all,

Well, I get me '99 2.0ltr CDX later today, around 4:30.  Can't wait!!

MY questions:

I plan on changing the timing belt and pump tomorrow and wondered if there was anything that I need to be aware of before starting the work.  I've yet to get myself some sort of manual to follow so don't know exactly what's involved but I've heard it should take roughly an hour for the experienced mechanic/diy'er?  I presume the belt is on the front of the engine hidden away by covers?  I'm (in a wierd sort of way) actually looking forward to doing the change after having changed the belt on a Rover 827 (Honda V6 - zero room in engine bay, took roughly 3hrs).

My second question is what's the recommended LPG kit to install on the 2.0ltr and what's the opinion as to installing a doughnut where the spare sits?  I'm not overly keen on either proposition to be honest, cylinder behind rear seats (cannot use the extra load space) or doughnut on n/s/r corner (uneven weight distribution, extra wear on bushes and spring on that corner) or am I just being over cautious?

Its an easy enough job.  I'd certainly get a manual and read through it beforehand and not be trying to break any world records.

Worth getting a cam lock (few quid I think).

There is plenty of room and the strip down is quite straightforward - make a drawing of the routing of the aux belt before you remove it though.
