I have finally got round to changing my cam belt. When I started it up, all was sweeeeet, but there was a faint rattle in the cam area. It got steadily louder as the engine warmed. Not really loud, but just there when it wasn’t there before.
I thought that it may be a lack of oil as it hasn’t been started for a month-or-so, but I don’t think it is due to it getting louder as it got warmer (and presumably more oil being circulated).
Any ideas before I start stripping it again?

dunno if its the same, but may be the hydralic lifters, i have read elsewhere on here they can make a bit of noise if not used for some time, im sure sombody with more technical knowledge on these things will be along.

Let it run for 10-15 minutes to let the oil pressure build up fully and re-fill the lifters.
