Title: Silly question alert...
Post by: Brewster on 27 November 2007, 13:44:47
I can't find my handbook at the moment, so does anyone know how to adjust the steering column on a pre-facelift?

On a 1996 model it might not be adjustable....

Oh balls! I was hoping to drop it to get into the binnacle replace my dash bulbs. I might have to open the column up then. I thought it was funny that I couldn't see a lever. :D

Two screws and remove the upper part of the steering column cowl....

Unfortunately you have to remove the steering wheel to get access to the two screws :(

Try again. Shouldn't be necessary to remove steering wheel.

No you dont....turn the steering wheel to 3 Oclock and then 9 Oclock positions, each position lets you remove one of the screws.
