Does the engine reach normal operating temperature reasonably guickly? If not, thermostat.

Feel the two pipes going through the firewall to the heater matrix, drivers side, about level with the cylinder head. Both should be hot, if only the top is then possibly an airlock or blockage in the matrix.

Hi, just had a similar problem myself....to locate your heater pipes...when looking in the engine bay, look in the left hand side (drivers) near to where the brake servo is, theres 2 vac pipes leading off the servo pipes if you look under there on the bulk head there are 2 rubber hoses one on top of the other, one has a black plastic end the other has a white plastic end theses come off (can be a sod to get off) to reveal 2 metal pipes, this is the supply and return for you heater matrix, if you need any more help i'll tahe a photo of mine and send em to you.... :y

If the pipes to matrix are getting hot, and the climate has been reset, then you are looking at issues with the panel or sensors.  Is the sampling fan working?
