Title: My interior mirror has a microchip on it, Why?

hi,

Just noticed my interior mirror has a microchip in it, what is this for please?

I have an omega elite 3.0i, 2001

really I have never noticed it working and there have been a few people behind me with full light as well

Should tint to a green/blue to reduce glare...
