Title: catera misfire help
Post by: zealious on 25 November 2007, 03:20:25
Bad misfire on cylinder 6. Ive already replaced the spark plug and will do wires soon. I found that water had been getting into the well. the wire looks fine but i will replace just to see. Is there anything else i should be looking for to cause the misfire? car is at 96k miles and has been just sitting for 4 months.
Would appreciate some help.  ;)

Yes it's very common  :(. Have you lifted the bonnet in the dark, revved it and checked for arcing? It could be a lead but my moneys on the dis pack...

Yea im thinking its the dis/coil too. I swapped out all my spark plugs. No luck. The strange thing is that it only starts missing after about 10 minutes when the engine is warm. Where does this point? I did get the leads today, so im going to try them out and hope for the best. Just the coil by its self is 500 usd =( .
