Title: head gasket failure

I have spent 3 days attempting to dismantle the engine on my 98 3 litre and am reaching the point of giving up. If anyone in the Harrow area who is familiar with removing these heads could assist I would be very grateful, even to the extent of paying!! If all else fails I will be scrapping it.

Have done a few head changes on the V6 now, post up what problems you're having and we'll assist...

Thanks James, the problem is my brother is doing this and has no computer, so he's trying to explain to me over the phone and having not even seen this engine I cant visualise the problems. If anyone wants to give a phone no. I'll pass it to him, thanks

what makes him think the hg has failed, not just oil cooler?

Hi, I did discuss this with James last week, it runs fine for about 1 min. and then emits huge clouds of steam from the exhaust, it also pressurises the cooling system

Very reluctantly decided to scrap it, now in parts for sale
