Title: Power Steering Pump knacked ?
Post by: Craig_R on 14 December 2007, 12:33:58
Hiya chaps i have been getting a squeek at high revs about the 4k mark so i thought it was my AUX belt being glazed so i pop off and got another took the old one off and checked all the contracts that the aux belt drives and my power steering pump round thing that the belt sits around is loose is it ment to be tight with no movment i dont mean spinning it i mean back and forth.

I have just rechecked it and its not moving left right up and down thats solid its back and forth it has some movement

Thanks  Chaps

There should be some slight movement fore and aft....but not in any other plane.

Thanks Mark Guess its ok then.

I wonder where that squeek is coming from at hight revs when under load, I am starting to think its the cambelt Tensoners I hope not guess ill find out when driving back to the north next week if it gos ping it was the cambelt tensoners but they were only dont 13,000 miles ago. Might take them out over xmas to see what conditons they are in.
