Title: Manual to electric windows
Post by: JayUK on 19 December 2007, 17:58:24
I've got an '03 ex police 3.2, with it's basic interior and the manual winders in the back.

I've just got an upgraded interior for it, that went in today. However, with the rears being manul, the door cards don't really fit so I have a number of choices. Hoping you guys can answer my questions (as usual) and offer some ideas.

Can I get the motor/regulator thingy out of a car with electric rears, and fit these. Is the wiring etc. already present, but just not used?

Shall I just forget the rears, and fit the newer ones in the front with the silver flashing and maybe spray the existing rears.

OR should I do something else entirely?

Thank you all, and
:) Merry Christmas!  :)

Do an electric window conversion - not at all difficult :)

So the gears all there, I just need the electric regulators and switches etc?

Sounds easy.  ;D

I think all wiring is already in the multiplug connection to the door.  If you remove the doorcard, you will see redundant connectors within that should match with the motors etc that you want to fit....

The multiplug connection will be there at the door itself, you'll still need the door wiring loom, though :)

Ahhh, OK I'll be sure to get the doorside wiring as well.  Thanks for the heads up!
