Happy New Year to you to.

Is this an automatic you are talking about?

What country are you from?

If its manual, it will likely be an R25, and I believe its a GM unit.  Bigger engined manuals use the R28, again, I believe its a GM unit.

If its an auto (which I doubt, as the 5 speed autos came later), it will likely be a 4 speed AR25, which is also a GM unit.

I thought that the AR25 was a ZF unit?

AR25 (all engines except 3.0) and AR35 (3.0 and 3.2 only) auto boxes are GM (4L30E)........R25 (all engines except 3.0 and 3.2) and R28 (3.0 only) manual boxes are apparantly ZF

Thanks for that :y

Presumably the 3.2 manual as fitted to plods is also R28?

Know what the tractor manuals use, R25 or R28?
