Title: water leak

have just had the crank sensor changed[old one completely shot]also icv removed soaked overnight and replaced, now runs like a new car except that it has developed a water leak from around the exspansion bottle area

If its the bottle itself, they are around £30 from dealer, or get one from scrappy. If yous has coolant level sensor, ensure that replacement works if 2nd hand...

when working on the car at the garage would they have to remove any hosesfrom that areai.e not replaced them properly

Unlikely if all they touched was crank sensor and icv.

Can you pinpoint where it is actually leaking?

seems to be coming from underneath the bottle maybe  adislodged hose today is the first day i have the chance to check in daylight as i tend to work 7 days a week 12 hours a day will get the tool box out and investigate

just checked the hoses etc all seemed ok topped up the bottle ran the car up to normal temp all ok .there seems to be a lot of air in the water,on loosening the cap you hear the pressure releasing with a lot of air bubbling through the water any ideas

Is it over pressurising...

Does the top hose get hard when running - thats the normal test for over pressurising.

If its overpressurising, normally due to a leak (such as failed HBV), or HG failure (rare on v6)

hbv heater bipass valve?
hg head gasket?
car is a 2.0 16v auto estate
no oil in water no mayo on filler cap or dipstick

haeter works ok with a/c on or off
