Help - I have a 3.0 v6 that has a gearbox problem - when cold it drives great for about 3 miles then when it is warm all drive is lost. If you turn the ignition off afor 1 min then restart, put into manual it will drive for about 2 miles then it ,loses drive again......any ideas.....there are no lights on - alkthough the automatic gearbox fualt did come on once.

First step is to check and top up the fluid level.
It's also worth dropping the two sumps off the gearbox and changing the fluid and filter and also having a look for any debris in the front sump from a failed thrust washer.

If you've let it slip excessively (ie, enough for Auto Gearbox warning), that will probably cause the clutch plates to need renewing.
I agree with Kevin Wood's initial options - change fluid, and look for remains of thrust washer. If this does not improve matters, try to get hold of a decent second hand AR35 (£75 - £150) and swap over.
